Built to Hold Snow. Designed to Save Labor.
AceClamp ColorSnap® arrives pre-assembled, installs in fewer steps and saves contactors on installation time and labor.
Transcript:
Snow on a metal roof is inherently a little more slippery. If there are no snow guards there, when that snow lets loose, it comes down in one big whoosh. It can tear the gutters off, but it can also hit someone. You know, it’s a safety issue, and obviously snow guards there would have completely prevented that.
So, I’m Kevin Yoder, and we’re First Choice Exteriors. We manufacture metal roofing. Our key is that we just try to give really good customer service and have a great product.
Snow retention was always a need with metal roofing. Our goal was to make it easier for the contractor to install, so we chose the ColorSnap® system from AceClamp based on its ease of use.
The clamp comes preassembled and ready to go. You just pull it out of the box, drop it on the rib, and it really speeds up the process.
That is not how most of the other systems work. You’ve got all these little Allen screws that you’re screwing in. You have one size for the two fasteners at the bottom, and then you have to switch your drill to something different for the top. It’s just not nearly as efficient.
When it comes to how the AceClamp fastens onto the rib, there’s literally one fastener. As you tighten it, it pushes two pins in and really grabs hold of the rib. You only have one fastener, and the unique part is that the same size fastener is used at the top to hold the bar in place.
The critical part is having the clamp fit the seams. With someone like AceClamp, they manufacture clamps that will fit all the different seams.
You can open the box, take out the clamps, run a string from one end of the roof to the other, and drop all your clamps into place. Your ColorSnap® literally snaps into place. Screw down the top, and you’re done.
There is a two-inch color strip that goes into the front of it and can be matched to the color of the roof. From the ground, it really blends right in.
From a profitability standpoint, the contractors are the ones who are really saving. With today’s labor rates, I feel like it’s a win-win for the contractor.
